■DESIGNER COMMENT

1950年代のミリタリーデザインに見られた“ストロベリーシェイプ”を、現代的にナローにリデザインしたセルフレーム。
近年主流だった縦幅の広いフレームとは対照的に、2000年代を思わせる細身のシェイプが新鮮です。

大きな違いはブリッジ幅。
当時の多くは18mm前後でしたが、こちらは22mmと、今の空気感に合った広めの設定。
縦幅を抑えつつも、フロント全体の横幅はしっかりと確保。これにより、目のまわりの余白を自然に保ちながら、すっきりとシャープな印象を演出しています。

フロントはやや裾広がりのラインで、広すぎないブリッジと相まって、鼻筋に抜け感を生み出し、どこかヨーロッパ的な軽やかさも感じさせます。
さらに、フレームの角度を微調整することで、鼻の低いアジア人の骨格にも無理なくフィットするよう設計されています。

鼻パッドには微調整が可能なクリングスタイプを採用。広めのブリッジ幅とともに、快適な掛け心地を実現します。
レンズサイズも主張しすぎず、顔なじみの良いナチュラルなワイド感が魅力です。

テンプルには、サハラ砂漠に暮らす“青の民”トゥアレグ族の伝統的な彫金模様をモチーフにしたメタル装飾をプラス。セルフレームながら、繊細で異国的な雰囲気を纏った一本です。テンプルエンドは厚みを持たせながらも細身に設計し、耳元にも優しくフィット。見た目だけでなく、強度や安定感にもこだわりました。

製造は、国内随一の眼鏡産地・福井県鯖江。
熟練の職人が一本ずつ丁寧に仕上げた、日本製ならではの高品質なフレームです。

This acetate frame features a modern reinterpretation of the "strawberry shape" lens, originally seen in 1950s military eyewear.
Unlike the wide, deep frames that have been popular in recent years, this design revisits the slim, narrow silhouette reminiscent of the early 2000s—a refreshing contrast to current trends.

One key update is the bridge width.
While vintage styles typically had a narrow 18mm bridge, this model uses a wider 22mm bridge that reflects today’s more balanced proportions.
The frame keeps a compact vertical height but extends horizontally, preserving the space around the eyes and creating a sharper, more refined impression.

The front design flares slightly at the bottom, while the bridge remains moderate in width—adding an airy, European-inspired elegance to the overall look.
To better suit Asian facial structures, the frame angle has been carefully adjusted to ensure a natural fit, even for those with lower nose bridges.

Comfort is further enhanced by adjustable nose pads using a flexible "cling" type mechanism.
Combined with the wider bridge, this provides a secure, custom fit for a variety of face shapes.
The lens size is balanced—not too large or small—resulting in a natural-looking, comfortable width.

Adding an artisanal touch, the temples are accented with metal engravings inspired by the traditional patterns of the Tuareg people—nomads of the Sahara Desert, also known as the “Blue People.”
Despite being an acetate frame, it carries a subtle, exotic sophistication.
The temple tips are designed to be slim yet sturdy, offering a soft and secure fit behind the ears. Strength and stability were priorities in the overall construction.

This frame is handcrafted by skilled artisans in Sabae, Fukui—Japan’s renowned eyewear production region.
