セルロイドは、深みのあるツヤと硬質さの中にしなやかさを併せ持つ、非常に魅力的な素材です。メガネ素材として理想的でありながら、加工には高い技術と時間を要するため量産には向かず、現在では扱える職人も少なくなっています。かつて鯖江での生産も一時途絶えていましたが、今回特別に再生産が実現しました。

デザインは、少し目尻に向かって垂れたようにすることで抜け感を作ったボストンシェイプをベースに、」一般的なアセテートではなく希少なセルロイドで再構築。細身のラインを保ちながらもフロント幅をしっかり確保することで、顔幅の広いアジア人にも自然にフィットするバランスに仕上げています。

テンプルには軽やかな掛け心地を生むオリジナルのβチタンを採用。ヒンジには耳の高さの違いに対応できるアジャスターヒンジを搭載し、傾斜角の微調整が可能です。鼻まわりにはクリングスタイプのパッドとやや広めのブリッジを組み合わせ、長時間の着用でも快適に保てるよう設計されています。

製造は国内屈指の眼鏡産地・福井県鯖江。熟練の職人が一本ずつ丁寧に仕上げた、高品質なアイウェアです。

Celluloid is a highly captivating material, known for its deep, elegant luster and firm yet flexible character. While it is an ideal material for eyewear, it requires exceptional skill and time to process, making mass production difficult. As a result, only a handful of craftsmen are still able to work with it today. Production in Sabae—Japan’s renowned eyewear capital—had once come to a halt, but through a special effort, we have been able to bring it back.

The design is based on a soft Boston shape, subtly lowered toward the outer edges to create an effortless, relaxed impression. Rather than using common acetate, this frame is meticulously reconstructed in rare celluloid. By maintaining a slender silhouette while giving the front enough width, it achieves a natural and balanced fit that complements the facial proportions of many Asian wearers.

For the temples, we use our original β-titanium, providing a light and flexible wearing experience. The adjustable hinges allow fine-tuning of the temple angle to accommodate differences in ear height, enhancing overall comfort and balance. Around the nose, the frame features adjustable pad arms and a slightly wider bridge, ensuring stability and comfort even during long hours of wear.

Each frame is handcrafted in Sabae, Fukui—Japan’s finest eyewear production region—by skilled artisans who finish every piece with precision and care. The result is a beautifully balanced, high-quality eyewear that embodies both craftsmanship and refinement.
